High-capacity bum-bag built for big days on the trail

In decent weather, hiking with just a hip pack is wonderfully liberating โ€“ but unfortunately most of the bum-bags on the market are designed for city breaks, festivals and general-purpose travel rather than trekking or running. This 6-litre Abisko hip pack, however, was built for big days in the great outdoors, with an adjustable waist belt, ventilated foam lumbar panel and compression straps to trim the load in. Not only is it seriously comfortable over long distances, but it'll take a surprising amount of stuff too. Two separate bottle pockets free up a lot of space in the main 6-litre compartment, and you've also got shock cord on the front for attaching trekking poles, a small tripod or a rolled up layer. In the right conditions, itโ€™s a genuinely viable alternative to a daypack.

    • Hip pack designed for optimal comfort during high-movement outdoor activities
    • Seamless back panel with ventilated soft foam padding for comfort
    • Forward pull adjustments on hip belt
    • Main compartment with organiser pockets and key hook
    • Smaller zipped second compartment
    • Two stretch bottle pockets with elastic loops to hold bottles in place
    • Compression straps
    • Large carry handle on top
    • Elastic cord on the front for attaching extra gear
    • Reflective details

    • Sustainability through longevity: 2 year warranty with Fjรคllrรคven
  • When it comes to iconic Swedish exports, Fjรคllrรคven is right up there with IKEA and Volvo.* โ€˜The Arctic Foxโ€™ has been in the outdoor gear game since the 60s, but the story really dates back to 1950, when founder ร…ke Nordin โ€“ then 14 years old โ€“ took his mumโ€™s treadle sewing machine down to the cellar and cobbled together his first rucksack.

Some of Fjรคllrรคvenโ€™s products are instantly recognisable, including the Kรฅnken backpack โ€“ originally designed for Swedish schoolkids in the 1970s โ€“ and their famous Greenland jacket, first released in 1968. But they also have a knack for combining vintage looks with modern materials and refinements. Products in their Vardag line, for example, were inspired by a deep dive into the brandโ€™s old catalogues โ€“ and feature the brandโ€™s 70s logo instead of the modern one.

Quintessentially Scandi, Fjรคllrรคven kit is built tough and dependable for people who live, work and play in the outdoors, day-in, day-out. Youโ€™re as likely to see their popular Keb trousers on gamekeepers and foresters as you are on hikers and bushcrafters.

But this is a brand that does more than just gear. ร…ke Nordin was all about the shared experience of the outdoors, and since 2005, thousands of people every year have taken part in their Fjรคllrรคven Classic treks โ€“ which now operate in seven different countries from Sweden to Korea, including the UK.
